School Uniform Policy

Uniform Requirements

Students should have a neat, clean and appropriate appearance within the uniform guidelines as stated in the Parent/Student Handbook  (p. 34-36).  All uniforms must fit properly and be worn in an appropriate way.  Large, baggy and oversized uniforms are not permitted. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. Skirts and shorts are knee length. The student name badge is to be worn daily.

There is a uniform check every morning by the homeroom teacher.  If your child is not in uniform including proper haircut, socks, shoes, belts, length of skirt, etc. the student's parent/guardian may be called to bring such items to school and or to pick up your child to get a haircut.

Mandatory Dress Uniform:  The dress uniform is worn on Mass days, special occasions and field trips. Dress uniform includes a tie and vest. Dress uniform days are listed in the weekly Viator Voice.  Please be sure to check the dates when your child needs to wear their dress uniform.

P.E. Grades 1-8:  P.E. uniforms are worn to school the day the student is scheduled for P.E. class, with the exception of special days when the dress uniform is mandatory.  The fleece jacket may be worn over the P.E. uniform, but not instead of the sweatshirt.  On spirit day students may wear a spirit tee shirt.

Note: (2015-2016 P.E. Uniforms for Gr. 5-8: 2016-2017 P.E. Uniforms for Gr. 1-8.)

Uniform issues should not take up valuable time in class.  As parents it is your responsibility to be sure that your child comes to school in his/her proper uniform.

See the Uniform Grade List for both the casual and the dress uniform.

Used Uniform Sales

There are three sales during the year of good-condition used uniforms:

  • The first is on Orientation Day beginning at 8 AM
  • The second will be before the Christmas break
  • The final sale will be in the spring

Specific dates and times will be listed in the Viator Voice. We will gladly accept your donations of any well kept used uniforms in the school office.

Cold Weather Reminders

If your child needs a fleece jacket you must order it in advance.  Dennis does not keep them in stock.  It takes two weeks for an order.  You may do this online at their website. Girls may wear navy or white tights.  The mayfair plaid sweatshirt maybe worn all day with the casual uniform.  The hooded micro fiber jacket is an optional cold weather jacket for outer wear. It may not be worn in the classroom.  Either the fleece jacket or the mayfair plaid sweatshirt is allowed in the classroom.
